Development of Single Family Homes is Chesapeake

Dragas Companies to begin development on single-family homes in Chesapeake.
Land rezoned for 150 single-family homes on Elbow Road.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Dragas Companies, a leading home developer in Hampton Roads is paving way for their next single-family residential development project off Elbow Road near Centerville Turnpike North in Chesapeake, VA, after a successful rezoning effort in late July by Chesapeake City Council.
The new community named Crestfield, will lie on 65 acres which will make up 150 single-family residential lots and amenities. The square footage of the 2-story homes will range from 2,450-2,800 with 4-5 bedrooms and feature multiple floor plans to choose from. The community will be governed by a homeowner’s association that will include 2 neighborhood lakes, numerous pocket parks, and vehicular and pedestrian access to a future, improved, City Park which is located to the immediate west of the community.
The location for Crestfield was chosen due to its proximity to the Greenbrier job base, its centralized location, and the rural/suburban nature of the surrounding area. Single-family homes were a clear choice for the location as the demand for single-family homes has outpaced the supply for homes for the past 2 years.
Additionally, the funding of the Elbow Road construction project has been approved by City Council and is currently in the design stages. This project will divide the two-lane roadway with a grassed, median in the short term and eventually add four lanes to Elbow Road. This will improve the safety and efficiency of Elbow Road, which will be a much-needed improvement for current and future residents of this corridor.
