The Dragas Companies Announces Multiple Senior Level Promotions and Business Expansion on its 54th Anniversary 

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Dragas Companies, the most trusted name in real estate development in Hampton Roads, today announced eight senior leadership promotions, new hirings, and a business line expansion as it celebrates the 54th anniversary of its founding. 

Robert Makin, marking 30 years of extraordinary and dedicated leadership within the company, has been named Chief Operations and Finance Officer, with responsibility for finance, administration, and building construction operations. 

Sally Vandergrifft, a 22-year veteran with Dragas, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales Operations and Marketing. Sally has also been named President of Dragas Companies Realty, with oversight responsibility for both new home and expanded resale brokerage services. 

Brian Kokoska, who joined the company 14 years ago, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Land Development and Pre-construction, with responsibility for the permitting, land management, and production procurement activities of the company’s new communities and properties. 

Lina Rollins, CPA and formerly Controller, has been promoted to Vice President of Finance after seven years of responsibility for the financial reporting and internal controls at the company. 

Louie Berbert, who has led the company’s new home building activities and construction team during his five years with the company, has been promoted from Director to Vice President of Field Operations. 

Faye York, PHR, SHRM-CP, after five years as Director of Human Resources, has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. 

Drew Vakos, also in his fifth year with Dragas, has been promoted from New Business Development Associate to Vice President of Business Development.

The company also announced that Dragas Companies Realty will create a new division to provide resale brokerage services to over 8,500 former Dragas Companies’ homebuyers as well as to prospective resale purchasers. 

The Dragas Companies is currently selling homes at six beautiful lifestyle communities in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake and owns and manages office parks and apartment complexes in the region. In addition to three new neighborhoods in various stages of planning and construction, the company has many future development projects in the works.
