From there, Metrostudy took the top 10 cities, excluding Sioux Falls due to the limitation of available homes, from WalletHub’s ranking and re-ranked them based on median price for a new single-family home as of the second quarter of 2016. In the list of the 10 best cities for family buyers, Chesapeake ranks third with a median home price of $300,000, and Virginia Beach ranks seventh with a median price of $407,100.
