Dragas Participates in Successful ForKids Toy Drive

Each year, ForKids brings holiday magic to thousands of Hampton Roads-area kids and their families – kids and families who have been experiencing the uncertainty of homelessness. Dragas is proud to be a part of a charity that gives back to our neighbors in need. Unwrapped toy donations of all kinds were dropped off for children ages newborn to 18 years old at our home office and sales centers leading up to the holiday. Thanks to generous donations, we were able to give ForKids an entire box of toys, as well as a stack of gift cards donated by employees.

Rachel Newnam, the Annual Fund and Special Project Manager of ForKids, said, “Thank you so much to the Dragas Companies for their constant support of ForKids! They just filled one of our mini-vans with toys, gift cards and lots of good cheer for our kids. We hope to serve nearly 2,000 children this holiday season and couldn’t do it without incredible partners like you all!” Since the recession, millions of families were pushed over the edge into homelessness and many have yet to recover. There are over 2.5 million children in the United States under the age of 18 that are without a roof over their heads. ForKids is one of the largest providers for homeless families in Virginia, helping over 37,000 lives annually through holistic housing programs and extended services for families. Thanks to our caring community and the many people who made donations, homeless children in the Hampton Roads area will now have a brighter holiday season!
