Dragas Gives Back to Community During ForKids Backpack Drive

Community and giving back is important to us at The Dragas Companies. We believe that if we have the opportunity and chance to help, then we should. When ForKids needed help with its annual backpack drive again, we couldn’t resist helping to make sure kids had everything they need when headed back to school this year. Our employees worked together, allowing us to supply fifty backpacks filled to the brim with everything local kids needed for school – paper, pencils, notebooks and more. Our donation, combined with others from the community, ensured that more than 1,000 backpacks could be distributed to ForKids’ kids who would have otherwise gone without. “The Dragas Companies did it again! Fifty backpacks filled to the brim with everything our kids needed!” said Rachel Newnam, Annual Fund and Special Projects Manager. “Families in our community are in the midst of working themselves out of homelessness and poverty, so the added expenses of necessary school supplies are simply ones they cannot afford. The Dragas Companies employees recognized this need and once again gave back in a big way to ensure ForKids children had the backpacks and school supplies that are so critical to ensuring they start their first day of school and year ahead out right.” At The Dragas Companies, we want to see families and kids in our community be successful and stop the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
