Decorating Your Table for Thanksgiving

November 4, 2016

[envira-gallery id="8940"] I do love a good theme and setting a beautiful table any time of the year, especially the planning and collecting of special things to use. I think the Thanksgiving table takes the cake on importance during the holiday season though! I wanted to create a warm, inviting space, keeping everything very neutral, incorporating some rustic elements,  lots of texture and of course, fresh pumpkins for my pop of color. Our ‘Coastal Chic’ house at Halstead at Spence Crossing was the perfect backdrop; a concrete table, driftwood finish side chairs and linen wing back chairs (that I moved over from the living room) make the perfect addition!  The space already had glass lanterns, woven chargers, wine glasses and dishes. I added a burlap runner (purchased from Michael’s), a navy plaid table cloth from Target to add some dimension and pattern, and lots of pumpkins, which I picked up across the street at the Virginia Beach Farmers Market! For the center of the table, I used a wooden tray and moss, and to add a little height to my larger pumpkin, I placed a glass cake stand underneath.  The larger pumpkin, which I have always referred to as a Cinderella pumpkin, is actually called a Long Island cheese wheel. Who knew? Finally, I added a couple of gold votives for a little sparkle! I hope I’ve inspired you to get started on your Thanksgiving table. Ours will be up for the month of November if you’d like to come by and check it out in person, and tour the rest of the home! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends! Cheers!
